We feel incredibly privileged to celebrate our wedding at Luttrellstown Castle, an estate with a rich history that spans centuries. Originally built as a fortress in the 15th century, this stunning estate has seen generations of stories and traditions unfold within its walls. Surrounded by its storied past, elegant architecture and timeless beauty, our wedding day becomes part of a living history, making it all the more special and unforgettable.

Dublin has a number of great hotel options, as well as AirBnBs.

The hotel closest to Luttrellstown is Castleknock Hotel. Get in touch with us if you’d like to stay at Castleknock, as we may be able to get a better rate directly for a large group booking.

Just keep in mind when booking your accommodation that Luttrellstown Castle is on the outskirts of Dublin so you have a choice as to whether you stay near to the venue or in the city centre.

Accommodation

  • The fact that many of you will be making the journey from across the globe for our special day makes us feel so loved.

    If you are flying in, we recommend taking some time to explore the historic and vibrant city of Dublin and the surrounding beautiful countryside. The family of the groom has prepared a Guide to Ireland to give you some ideas on what to do!

    The closest airport is Dublin, only a 20-30 minute drive from our venue. You can take the Dublin Express bus into the city for around €8 or €15 for a return ticket, just account for a bit of time queueing.

  • Driving from Belfast

    For our guests travelling from Northern Ireland, the driving time from Belfast to Luttrellstown Castle usually takes around 2 hours.

    Driving from the UK

    For our guests from the UK wishing to take their own car to Ireland there several ferry options available.

    Renting a Car in Dublin

    Depending on your group size and itinerary, renting a car can offer comfort and flexibility. Here are the top options:

    From Dublin Airport

    • Major car hire desks (Budget, Avis, Europcar, Sixt, Dooley) are located inside Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 arrivals. Operating from around 5 am–midnight daily.

    • Driving time from the airport to the castle is around 20-30 minutes.

    In Dublin City Centre

    • Options include CARHIRE.ie (Spencer Dock), Enterprise (St Stephen’s Green), and other well-known providers available here.

    • Driving time from the airport to the castle is around 30 minutes.

    There is ample free parking available at Luttrellstown Castle for all our guests.

  • Luttrellstown Castle is easily reached by taxi from both Dublin Airport and Dublin City Centre.

    From Dublin Airport

    • Taxis available directly outside Terminals 1 & 2

    • Journey time: 25–35 minutes

    • Typical fare: €25–35, (2025 prices)

    From Dublin City Centre

    • Taxis can be hailed on the street or booked via apps

    • Journey time: 25–35 minutes

    • Typical fare: €25–40, (2025 prices)

    • Reliable from both the airport and city centre

    • Pick-up zones may apply at the airport (e.g. Zone 18 for FreeNow)

    Returning to the City or Airport

    🛑 Tip: All licensed taxis must accept card. If a driver says otherwise, feel free to request a different one.

  • From Dublin City Center

    • While it is possible to take the intercity train (Manooth service) from Dublin City Center, it generally takes double the time to driving. The closest station to the venue is Clonsilla, which is a 20min walk or 5min taxi from Luttrellstown Castle.

    From Dublin Airport 

    • There is no train station in Dublin Airport. Travelling to the venue by public transport from the airport requires taking the Dublin Express bus from outside the terminal building to the city centre, (30-40 minutes) for around €8 (or €15 for a return ticket) - just account for a bit of time queueing. To get to the venue you should then catch the intercity train to Clonsilla as above. Total journey time approximately 90 minutes.

    Please be aware that to take buses in the city you CANNOT pay by contactless card, you must either pay by cash (with the exact change) or purchase a Leap Card in advance.
